TIPS FOR MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR ITTY RV SPACE

Living in an RV full time means making the most of what little storage space you have. You want to take everything, but there's just not room.

Or is there......

We really wanted to take our DVD's with us, but those big bulky plastic cases just took up SO MUCH precious space! I started researching storage cases, but those were kind of pricey and also fairly large. We had this teeny funky little cupboard under the TV we wanted to use and those expensive storage cases were just not going to cut it. After shopping around, I found these half-sized little binders at Staples, and in Rollie House purple even!

They were the perfect size to hold the cover art from the DVD package!

And they even fit just right in that stupid little funky cupboard. :-) I need to make better labels for them, but this works for now. Maybe while I'm laid up after my surgery I'll do that. And alphabetize them. And make content sheets.... But I'm not OCD or anything. LOL

Amazing how we went from THIS to

THAT!

Which got me to thinking, what else could I consolidate??? We love games in our family, and had quite the collection taking up another one of those stupid funky sized little cupboards. So I pulled the contents of all our game boxes into a couple of plastic totes, then took a deep breath and THREW THE BOXES AWAY. :-O Right?!?!? (Don't tell anyone, but after the initial moment of panic passed, it felt REALLY GOOD!) So now our little game cupboard looks like THIS:

That felt so good, I decided to tackle my shoe collection. The Crabbie Ol' Man made the mistake of making the statement that there was no way I could take all my shoes with us. HA! Amateur!

I bought one of those hanging shoe things and cut it apart into one row strips. Then I stapled them to the back closet wall. :-) Shoe dilemma solved!

Then I moved to the dresser. I found these nifty plastic boxes made for organizing the fridge. They fit perfectly in the oddly deep dresser drawer, giving me 2 easily accessible layers. No peaking at my unmentionables now...)

I also found these multi hangers, which worked great for corralling several pairs of pants onto one hanger. And of course, we already know how much I love the space-saving-sucky-bags! They fit in the underbed storage QUITE well.

After the bedroom, I moved to the bathroom. I thought these baskets worked quite nicely for holding our towels and my hair styling junk. I plan to put some hooks on the wall too, for holding jammies and such. I just need to teach Poppy how to properly fold and put the towels in. :-/
